Situation in 2008 (before the arrival of IN-VITA)
This is the village with the least density of inhabitants, about 150, the majority of them belonging to the Bamana ethnic group. It lies on a light depression, on the course of a river characterized by a devastating capacity during the rainy season and dry during the others. The groundwater level is located at only 24 meters and it is excessively abundant compared to the village needs. It relies on two traditional small-sized wells, dug in the rock, which completely dry up by the end of March.
There are 2 “forages” located on the riverbed, one next to the other, both with failing pumps and made unusable by the violence of water during the rainy season.
